Bhuj Railway's Modern Mirage: ₹180 Cr Project is 75% Complete

The redevelopment of Bhuj Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme has achieved 75% completion.

The ₹180-crore project, part of a nationwide initiative to modernize 1,275 railway stations, is inspired by the Rann of Kutch in its architectural design. Scheduled for completion by April 2026, the upgraded station will feature modern amenities including 13 lifts, 10 escalators, underground parking for 480 vehicles, and electric vehicle charging stations.

Sustainable infrastructure elements include a 500 KWP solar power plant, rainwater harvesting system, and a sewage treatment plant. The station will also have a 3,240 sq. m concourse, improved passenger flow systems, and eco-friendly facilities such as a 250-tonne HVAC system.

This redevelopment is set to enhance regional connectivity, supporting tourism and trade, while providing passengers with a modern, comfortable, and environmentally sustainable travel experience.
