The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has proposed a 60-kilometre Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor to enhance high-speed connectivity between Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, and Greater Noida. This proposed corridor will operate independently of other RRTS projects, such as the Delhi-Gurugram and Delhi-SNB lines.
Estimated at a cost of Rs 15,000 crore, the corridor will support trains designed for a top speed of 180 kmph. The planned route includes six stations:
Gurugram: IFFCO Chowk (Sector 29) and Sector 54 (Golf Course Road)
Faridabad: Bata Chowk and Sector 85-86 intersection
Noida: Sector 142-168 intersection
Greater Noida: Surajpur (providing interchange with the upcoming Ghaziabad–Jewar Airport RRTS corridor)
This new corridor will further integrate the NCR’s transit network by linking with the Ghaziabad–Jewar Airport RRTS line.
The proposal has been submitted to the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) for alignment approval, a necessary step before preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR). A senior HMRTC official confirmed that the project was recently reviewed in a meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and it received a favorable response.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has emphasized the need for early stakeholder approvals, as the majority of the alignment falls within Haryana’s jurisdiction.
