The Central Government has sanctioned Rs 1,914.71 crore for 40 critical road infrastructure projects in Rajasthan under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), according to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). Covering approximately 1,000 km, these projects aim to boost regional connectivity and road safety across the state.
The approved works include 31 major district roads, eight state highways, and one other district road. Funding will focus on the strengthening and widening of these roads, with civil works encompassing surface upgrades, lane expansion, and structural enhancements to accommodate higher traffic volumes and improve safety.
Once completed, the projects are expected to significantly cut travel time, enhance passenger and freight mobility, and improve access to markets in both rural and urban areas. The Rajasthan government emphasized that improved road infrastructure will be pivotal in driving industrial development, generating employment, and supporting overall regional growth.
