Freyr Brings Solar Power to 2,000 Kerala Homes!

Freyr Energy, a leading rooftop solar company, is making significant strides in expanding its presence by venturing into Kerala. The company aims to solarize 2,000 homes across all districts in the state by the end of this year. This initiative gains added importance in light of the government's announcement of a solar rooftop scheme for one crore households.

In support of rooftop solar installations in the residential sector, the central financial assistance has witnessed an increase. The subsidy has been raised to Rs 18,000/kWp for projects up to three KW, up from the previous Rs 14,588/kWp. Similarly, for projects above three KW and up to 10 KW, the subsidy has been enhanced to Rs 9,000/kWp from Rs 7,294.

Kerala State Electricity Board's (KSEB) solar project has already seen the successful installation of rooftop solar panels in 1,70,015 houses, contributing to a significant addition of 541 MW of electricity to the power grid. In total, the state is witnessing a substantial contribution of 893 MW to the grid through various solar projects across different sectors.

Freyr Energy's entry into Kerala aligns with the broader goal of fostering solar energy adoption and sustainability, as the company strives to play a pivotal role in realizing the government's vision for widespread solarization in the residential sector.
