Kirloskar & GSL Join Hands for Kerala Solar Boom

Kirloskar Solar has teamed up with Kochi-based GSL Energy Solutions to launch a significant solar initiative in Kerala. This partnership will focus on generating 5 MW of solar power, valued at approximately ₹25 crore, during the 2024-25 financial year.

The collaboration targets solar projects across six key districts: Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idukki, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Kollam. Leveraging Kerala's favorable climate and available government subsidies, the initiative aims to enhance both commercial and residential solar adoption in the region.

Kerala’s sunny weather, except during the monsoon season, combined with the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) subsidies of ₹78,000 for residential solar systems between 3 kW and 10 kW, positions the state as a prime candidate for increased solarisation. This financial support is expected to drive widespread adoption and support the project's growth.

Kirloskar Solar and GSL Energy Solutions will provide comprehensive solar solutions, including after-sales support. The project aims to ensure a return on investment within five years of installation, promoting long-term value for customers.

This venture aligns with Kirloskar Solar’s broader goals of expanding renewable energy infrastructure and tapping into the growing potential of solar power in Kerala.
