NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL), the renewable energy arm of NTPC, has commissioned 49.1 MW in the third phase of its 300 MW Khavda solar project in Bhuj, Gujarat.
The newly added capacity became commercially operational from midnight on August 22, 2025, under the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche V initiative. This follows the commissioning of 142.2 MW in the first phase on June 28 and 32.8 MW in the second phase on June 30, reinforcing Khavda’s emergence as a key solar energy hub.
The phased commissioning is part of NTPC Green’s broader strategy to scale up renewable capacity and improve utilisation across its operational portfolio. The continued growth at Khavda reflects the company's strong focus on expanding clean energy assets and enhancing its contribution to India’s energy transition.
