22.55 Lakh & Counting: Maruti’s Historic 2025 Milestone

Maruti Suzuki India has reached a significant manufacturing milestone, producing over 22.55 lakh vehicles in calendar year 2025—the highest annual output in the company’s history.

This achievement marks the second consecutive year in which the automaker has crossed the 20-lakh production threshold. The total includes vehicles manufactured for domestic sales, exports, and OEM supplies, underscoring robust demand across markets. The top five models by production volume during the year were the Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, and Ertiga.

Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi attributed the milestone to the dedication of the company’s workforce and strong collaboration with supplier partners, noting that high levels of localisation have helped maintain global quality standards. Maruti Suzuki also reaffirmed its commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and the continued expansion of its manufacturing capabilities.

Founded in 1983, Maruti Suzuki currently operates manufacturing facilities in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Gujarat, producing 17 models across more than 650 variants. The company plans to scale its annual production capacity to four million units to support growing domestic and export demand.
