Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has partnered with Maharashtra’s Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) to establish advanced automotive laboratories in 45 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state.
The initiative is designed to enhance light motor vehicle (LMV) technician training and expand global employment opportunities for students. Over the next five years, TKM will support the creation of state-of-the-art LMV labs and provide specialised instructor training, benefiting an estimated 8,000 ITI students. In the first phase, 13 labs are expected to become operational by March 2026, followed by additional facilities in subsequent phases.
Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha highlighted the partnership’s impact, stating, “This collaboration will offer world-class training and open global job prospects for our youth.”
