Alpex Solar is set to double its photovoltaic (PV) solar module capacity to 2.4 GW by FY26, marking a major expansion in its renewable energy capabilities. The company plans to build a new 1.2 GW greenfield solar PV module facility at Kosi Kotwan in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
The expansion comes as Alpex Solar explores entering solar cell manufacturing, aiming to meet increasing demand both domestically and globally. This move will strengthen its position in the solar PV module and aluminium frame markets.
Currently, Alpex Solar’s expansion has successfully added 900 MW of capacity, with an additional 300 MW expected to be completed in the next three months. This will bring the company’s total capacity to 1.2 GW by the third quarter of FY25.
The company is also acquiring a 17,846.63 square meter land parcel adjacent to its existing property at Kosi Kotwan for a future plant. The transaction, valued at approximately Rs 7 crore, will support ongoing growth and development.
Funding for the expansion will come from a mix of bank facilities, internal accruals, and equity infusion, ensuring the necessary capital is in place to achieve its ambitious goals.
