Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu has announced an ambitious coastal tourism initiative aimed at developing Baruva Beach in Andhra Pradesh into a vibrant "mini Goa."
Speaking at the launch of a beach festival in Baruva, the Minister highlighted the area's natural beauty — including the serene confluence of the Mahendra Tanaya river with the Bay of Bengal and the region’s vast, tranquil shoreline — as prime assets for eco-friendly tourism.
"Plans are in motion to make Baruva a mini Goa," Naidu stated. "We’ll train local youth in diving, tour guiding, and event management to boost both employment and economic growth."
Key features of the development plan include scuba diving, paramotor flying, and eco-tourism projects. A sunken 75-metre ship off the coast, identified by the Indian Navy, is set to become a unique underwater attraction for diving enthusiasts.
