Bihar's JP Ganga Path Expressway Gets a ₹6,498 Crore Boost

Vishwa Samudra Engineering has been declared the lowest bidder (L1) for the extension of the JP Ganga Path expressway corridor, a major infrastructure project valued at ₹6,498 crore. The tender was issued by the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL) and will be implemented under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).

The project involves extending the corridor from Digha–Sherpur to Koilwar Road, a move that will significantly enhance regional connectivity, ease traffic congestion in Patna and surrounding districts, and provide seamless access to southern Bihar and Jharkhand.

“This strategic infrastructure development is expected to act as a catalyst for economic growth in the region,” said a senior BSRDCL official.

Once completed, the extended JP Ganga Path will serve as a vital urban expressway, facilitating faster intra-state travel and relieving pressure on existing arterial roads.
