The Kerala government has approved projects worth ₹712 crore across multiple departments to boost agriculture, infrastructure, and social welfare initiatives in the state.
Under the Social Justice Department, ₹73 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a 250-bed rehabilitation hospital and an academic block at the National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The Agriculture Department has approved ₹176.14 crore for establishing 26 Smart Krishi Bhavans across 12 districts, developing paddy field infrastructure in Alappuzha, and implementing measures to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts in Kannur.
The Department of Coastal Shipping and Inland Navigation has received ₹217 crore for the construction of boat jetties at Mayyil and Mullakodi and six bridges over the TS Canal. Additionally, the Kerala State Warehousing Corporation has been allotted ₹44.92 crore to build modern warehouses, while the Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation has been granted ₹36.45 crore to scale up production of Vajra 120 power tillers.
The Local Self-Government Department has also secured ₹165 crore for the Comprehensive Municipal Liquid Waste Management and Road Restoration project, aimed at improving urban sanitation and infrastructure.
