Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has announced the initiation of the bidding process for significant infrastructure projects along the Borivali-Nallasopara stretch under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP). This undertaking aims to bolster the railway network's capacity between Borivali and Virar stations on the Western Railway line. The proposed works include the construction of major bridges such as Br. 66, 72, and 78, along with essential additions like a Road Overbridge (ROB) at Vasai and a vehicle subway at Br. 71. Additionally, minor bridges (Br. 79, 79A), drainage enhancements, and earthwork in formation are part of the project, spanning various sections along the route.
The comprehensive scope of work entails the completion of the designated projects within a strict timeline of 30 months. The contract, estimated at approximately Rs 115.19 crore, signifies a substantial investment in enhancing Mumbai's critical railway infrastructure. Interested parties are required to submit their bids by the closing date of 19 July 2024, as specified by MRVC.
This initiative underscores the ongoing efforts to modernize and expand Mumbai's transportation network, addressing the growing demands of its populace.
