The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) is set to finalise the master plan for the upcoming ₹667-acre Navi Mumbai Aerocity within the next three months, as part of the state government's fast-tracked strategy to commercialise the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).
Situated adjacent to NMIA, the Aerocity will be a mixed-use development featuring residential, commercial, retail, industrial, and hybrid zones. CIDCO is currently in the process of appointing a consultant for master planning and transaction advisory services.
The draft land use plan proposes:
~123 acres for residential development, ~123 acres for commercial and retail zones
The remaining area allocated for industrial and mixed-use developments
Beyond the Aerocity, CIDCO also plans to develop an Educity, Medicity, and an International Corporate Park within a 10-km radius, aiming to create a comprehensive, self-sustaining urban ecosystem that supports long-term economic growth.
These initiatives are expected to significantly boost real estate demand and position Navi Mumbai as a major investment, employment, and infrastructure hub. To accommodate rising passenger and vehicular traffic, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has also proposed enhanced connectivity infrastructure, including a tunnel link between Mumbai and NMIA.
