Cyient Wins Big: Key Role in ₹4,500-Cr SCL Modernization Project

Cyient Semiconductors has been selected for a key contract to supply and qualify technology IPs—along with design enablement support—for the ₹4,500-crore modernisation of the Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL) in Mohali.

The project, undertaken under the Government of India’s India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), aims to strengthen domestic semiconductor manufacturing, reduce import dependence, and bolster innovation for startups and strategic sectors. As part of the upgrade, Cyient will enhance process technology platforms and provide three critical technologies—RF-CMOS, BCD (HV LDMOS), and CMOS Image Sensor (CIS)—for SCL’s revamped 8-inch fabrication line.

These technologies are vital for applications across automotive, energy, and connectivity sectors. The contract reinforces Cyient’s growing role in advancing India’s semiconductor self-reliance.
