Dabur Powers Up in South India with Rs 135 Crore Manufacturing Unit

Dabur is set to inaugurate a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit in South India, marking a significant investment of Rs 135 crore. This newly approved greenfield facility is designed to produce a diverse range of Ayurvedic healthcare, personal care, and home care products, including popular items such as Dabur Honey, Dabur Red Paste, and Odonil air fresheners.

The decision to establish this manufacturing unit was officially sanctioned during a board meeting held on January 31, 2024. This venture will mark Dabur's 14th domestic manufacturing location, reinforcing its commitment to quality and expanding its production capacity. Dabur, renowned for brands like Dabur Amla, Dabur Vatika, and Real juices, envisions job creation and aims to meet the escalating demand for its products in the region.

Recognizing the growing significance of South India, which presently contributes to nearly 20 percent of Dabur's domestic business, the new facility will play a pivotal role in enhancing local accessibility. This strategic move aligns with Dabur's mission to strengthen its foothold in the region and satisfy the surging demand for its diverse product portfolio.

In the third quarter of the current financial year, Dabur experienced a commendable six percent volume growth. This positive trajectory was propelled by robust performances in the home and personal care segment, as well as the food and beverage business. The forthcoming manufacturing unit is anticipated to further bolster Dabur's operational efficiency and contribute to sustaining its growth momentum in the dynamic FMCG and Ayurvedic products market.
