Epiroc AB, a global leader in productivity and sustainability solutions for mining and infrastructure, officially broke ground on a new production and R&D facility in Nashik on 26 August 2025.
The 1,75,000 sq. m site will be dedicated to the development, innovation, and production of both underground and surface equipment for the mining and construction sectors. It will also house offices, prototyping areas, an R&D lab, and an outdoor equipment test track. Operations are expected to commence in Q3/2026, with phased expansions to follow. The project is projected to create approximately 200 new direct jobs, bringing Epiroc’s workforce in Nashik from 280 to nearly 500.
“This new facility in Nashik is a significant milestone in expanding our footprint in the growing and important Indian market, and it will also support our global customer base,” said Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO. Epiroc currently employs around 1,750 people across India, including at its sites in Nashik, Hyderabad, and others. Recent expansions include a rock drilling tools plant in Hyderabad and an innovation and technology center.
Arunkumar Govindarajan, President of Epiroc India, highlighted that the project aligns with India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
