The Ministry of Railways has allocated ₹100 crore for the Ghatkesar–Yadagirigutta MMTS extension project in Telangana for the 2025–26 financial year. This 33-km multi-modal transport system (MMTS) extension, sanctioned in 2016, has faced repeated delays due to funding constraints.
Originally planned as a cost-sharing initiative between the Railways and the Telangana government, the Union government has now committed to fully funding the project. Bhongir Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, who raised the issue during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha on April 3, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Railways and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the financial support.
The ₹100 crore allocation is conditional on project progress and demand from the executing agency. Land acquisition is currently underway, and MP Reddy has pledged to work closely with authorities to expedite the process.
