GAIL (India) Limited and Petron Scientech Inc. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of a 500 KTA bio-ethylene plant in India. This project, planned as a 50:50 joint venture between the two companies, represents a significant step towards advancing India’s bio-economy. The plant will utilize bio-ethanol as a feedstock, aligning with the country’s push towards sustainable and clean energy solutions.
The two companies will conduct comprehensive feasibility studies to assess the technical and financial viability of the project. These studies will guide the decision-making process before seeking investment approval from their respective management teams. The partnership aims to leverage both companies' expertise in bio-ethylene technology to drive innovation and economic growth in India.
Rajeev Kumar Singhal, Director of Business Development at GAIL, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing GAIL’s commitment to clean energy infrastructure and sustainable development.
