Ganpati Bharat has secured a ₹1,370.26 crore contract from Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) for handling, transport, and associated mining services, including overburden (OB) removal, at the Bharatpur Opencast Project (OCP) in the Bharatpur Area.
The contract, awarded on a percentage quote basis, has a completion timeline of 18 months. The scope includes large-scale excavation, removal, and transportation of overburden to support efficient coal extraction, thereby enhancing productivity and ensuring operational continuity for MCL.
With a proven track record in mining services and heavy earthmoving operations, Ganpati Bharat is expected to execute the project in line with stringent safety and quality standards.
This development reinforces MCL’s mining infrastructure in a key coal-producing region and contributes to India’s energy security by supporting a steady coal supply for thermal power generation.
