Genus Power Infrastructures, through its wholly owned subsidiary, has landed three major contracts worth ₹2,925.52 crore to deliver Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) on a DBFOOT (Design, Build, Finance, Own, Operate, Transfer) basis. This substantial order underscores the company's significant role in modernizing the energy sector with smart technology.
The contracts entail the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of approximately 3.75 million Smart Prepaid Meters, as well as system meters and distribution transformer (DT) meters with corresponding energy management systems. The scope of work includes both the initial setup and ongoing maintenance services, ensuring long-term operational efficiency and reliability.
This massive project is set to enhance the efficiency and transparency of energy consumption monitoring, contributing to more effective energy management and billing processes. The integration of smart meters aims to provide consumers with real-time data, improving accuracy and reducing disputes over utility charges.
The execution of these projects on a DBFOOT basis will see Genus Power Infrastructures finance and manage the infrastructure, before eventually transferring ownership. This model allows for significant investment and innovation in energy management, aligning with modern utility demands.
The successful implementation of these contracts will position Genus Power Infrastructures at the forefront of the smart metering revolution, potentially setting new benchmarks in the energy sector and paving the way for future advancements.
