IPL’s Big Move: 400 TPD Chlor-Alkali Plant Coming to Dahej

Indian Peroxide Limited (IPL), a leading chemical manufacturer, has announced plans to set up a 400 tonnes-per-day (TPD) chlor-alkali plant at its Dahej manufacturing complex in Gujarat, with commissioning targeted for October 2026.

The new facility, based on advanced Japanese process technology, forms part of IPL’s forward integration strategy aimed at strengthening its competitiveness in the global chemicals market. Designed with scalability in mind, the plant can be expanded to a capacity of 800 TPD, ensuring long-term growth and supply security for the domestic market.

The project builds on IPL’s expanding hydrogen peroxide operations at Dahej, where it already operates a 300 TPD facility serving sectors such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and water treatment. With the addition of the chlor-alkali unit, IPL will enhance value-chain integration by creating operational synergies between hydrogen peroxide and caustic soda production.

The development is expected to reduce import dependence, strengthen domestic chemical supply, and support key industries including paper, textiles, and infrastructure.
