Ircon International, in a joint venture with Paras Railtech and PCM Strescon Overseas Ventures, has received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) for a significant railway project in Uttarakhand. The project involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of broad gauge ballastless track (BLT), along with the supply of ballast and track installation (excluding rails and track sleepers). This work spans from chainage 6+015 (FLS) to 125+200 (FLS) on the new BG line between Rishikesh and Karanprayag, a 125km stretch.
The project will be executed over 42 months and aims to improve connectivity and reduce travel time between these regions. The joint venture is structured with Ircon holding a 60% share, Paras Railtech 25%, and PCM Strescon 15%. This collaborative effort highlights the expertise of each partner in handling large-scale, technologically complex infrastructure projects, particularly in railways and highways.
The Rishikesh-Karanprayag line is a part of the broader Char Dham railway project, enhancing accessibility to key pilgrimage sites and promoting regional development. The initiative will significantly reduce travel time and support economic growth through improved trade connectivity and tourism.
Ircon International's involvement underscores its capability in managing and delivering substantial infrastructure projects. This venture not only strengthens its portfolio but also showcases its commitment to contributing to India's infrastructure development.
The project is classified as a contract, given that Ircon received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from RVNL, indicating it is not a tender process.
