JSW Steel, APMDC Join Forces in ₹1,075 Crore Iron Ore Venture

JSW Steel has entered into a partnership with the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) to form APJSW, a newly established joint venture for the development of the Konijedu Marlapadu Integrated Iron Ore Project in Andhra Pradesh.

The project, with an investment of ₹1,075 crore, aims to mine and beneficiate low-grade iron ore to secure a consistent supply of raw materials for JSW Steel’s operations. As per the equity structure, JSW Steel will hold 89% of the venture, while APMDC will retain an 11% stake, ensuring state participation. The integrated project is expected to produce 1.3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of beneficiated iron ore concentrate, reducing JSW Steel’s dependence on imported iron ore and generating significant cost savings, while bolstering supply chain security.

The joint venture's registered office is located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. This project supports JSW Steel’s raw material integration strategy and aligns with APMDC’s mandate to foster mineral resource development in the state.
