The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has taken a significant step towards transforming Agra with the selection of Tractable Engineering as the consultant for its new urban city project. With a colossal investment of Rs 40,000 crore, this project aims to establish a vibrant urban center along the Yamuna Expressway. Tractable Engineering will spend the next nine months crafting a master plan under the Master Plan-2031, focusing on the comprehensive development of the area.
The forthcoming urban center will span 10,500 hectares, roughly half the size of Noida, and will be designed to balance residential, industrial, and green spaces. The plan includes areas for group housing, industrial units, mixed-use developments, and extensive green zones. The new city will also enhance tourism and promote non-polluting industries, aiming to integrate sustainability with growth.
Once the master plan is approved, land acquisition will commence, involving at least 30 villages. The blueprint will address various aspects including population projections, transport systems, road networks, environmental conditions, and business opportunities. The new Agra Urban Centre will feature 20% residential, 4% commercial, 25% industrial, and 15% green areas, among other uses.
