OSM Redefines Mobility with Hydrogen-Powered SCVs

Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) is set to revolutionize the electric mobility sector by venturing into the production of green hydrogen-powered small commercial vehicles (SCVs), including three-wheelers and one-tonne capacity trucks in India. To spearhead this initiative, OSM has joined forces with a prominent French company, forming a collaborative entity named Hydrogen Intelligence SA. This innovative partnership will be headquartered in France, boasting a subsidiary in India.

The manufacturing prowess of Hydrogen Intelligence SA will be showcased in Tamil Nadu, where it plans to establish a cutting-edge facility for producing these eco-friendly vehicles. The initial production target is set at 5,000 vehicles per month, with ambitious plans to scale up to 10,000 vehicles a month by 2026. Anticipated to be operational by March 2025, the dedicated facility will mark the commencement of commercial vehicle production.

In a strategic move, OSM is investing Rs 20 crore in this groundbreaking venture and aims to secure USD 25 million from European and US markets to fuel further expansion. The joint entity will be structured with OSM holding a 50 percent stake, while the remaining ownership belongs to the French partner. OSM will contribute the hardware and product components, leveraging its expertise, while Hydrogen Intelligence will provide the underlying technology.

Hydrogen Intelligence is set to unveil a hydrogen-powered three-wheeler at the prestigious Hyvolution, a three-day hydrogen show in Paris. Simultaneously, OSM will showcase its own three-wheeler featuring this advanced technology. This strategic collaboration signifies a major leap towards sustainable and green mobility solutions, reinforcing OSM's commitment to pioneering environmentally conscious alternatives in the electric vehicle landscape.
