Power & Instrumentation (Gujarat) Ltd. (PIGL) has been awarded a ₹70.55 crore turnkey contract by Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam for the electrification of tribal villages across nine circles in Rajasthan.
The project involves the supply, erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of distribution infrastructure to provide on-grid electricity to un-electrified households and public institutions in Ajmer, Banswara, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Salumbar, Sikar, and Udaipur.
This initiative falls under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA), part of the Central Government’s Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The project is scheduled for completion within 12 months.
Calling it a significant milestone, Managing Director Padmaraj Padmnabhan Pillai stated, “This project aligns with our mission to empower underserved communities through reliable electricity access. It will be transformative for Rajasthan’s tribal regions and reinforces India’s commitment to inclusive development.”
