The Andhra Pradesh government has completed the tendering process for sports infrastructure projects worth ₹54 crore, aimed at enhancing the state’s sports facilities and supporting athlete development.
These projects form part of a broader initiative to develop world-class sports infrastructure across the state. Key developments include the modernization of Kodiramamurthy Stadium in Srikakulam, the construction of a ₹25-crore stadium at Kommadi in Visakhapatnam, a new sports school in Vizianagaram, and a residential sports school for tribal children in the Araku-Paderu region.
Under the Khelo India scheme, a synthetic track in Kakinada has been completed, while renovation work at Eluru Stadium and upgrades to major stadiums in Vijayawada and Guntur are in progress. Additionally, a 28.30-acre land parcel in Tirupati has been allocated for the development of advanced sports facilities, further strengthening the state’s sports infrastructure ecosystem.
