PVVNL Power Distribution Revolution in Uttar Pradesh

Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL), a prominent electricity distribution utility in Uttar Pradesh, is spearheading a new Power Distribution Unit (PDU) project in Hapur under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme. This initiative aims to revamp the local electricity distribution infrastructure, enhancing reliability, efficiency, and reducing losses.

The project in Hapur entails the construction of new distribution infrastructure, including transformers, feeders, and substations, coupled with an upgraded network management system featuring smart meters and monitoring technologies. By utilizing high-efficiency equipment and aerial bunch cabling, the project intends to curtail power losses, thereby benefiting households and businesses in Hapur with improved electricity reliability and quality.

The exact completion date for this initiative remains undisclosed. Salasar Techno Engineering Limited has secured a significant order of Rs. 750 crores from PVVNL to establish distribution infrastructure across Saharnpur, Hapur, Baghpat, and Meerut districts under the RDSS, likely in the planning and implementation phases. This adoption of RDSS is expected to attract substantial investments, modernizing Uttar Pradesh's electricity distribution industry and fostering cooperation with private entities like Salasar Techno Engineering to establish efficient power distribution networks.

As on December 2023, The project is currently in the stage of being approved currently awaiting approval from the government.
