Radisson & MBD: A 50-Hotel Vision for India’s Luxury Horizon

Radisson Hotel Group has entered into a long-term master franchise agreement with MBD Group to accelerate the expansion of its premium lifestyle brands, Radisson Collection and Radisson RED, across India.

The partnership envisions the development of approximately 50 hotels over the next decade, primarily through an asset-light strategy that blends managed and franchised properties with select owned assets.

Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, stated that the collaboration reflects strong growth momentum in India’s premium hospitality segment and rising demand for contemporary, design-led lifestyle experiences.

Sonica Malhotra Kandhari, Joint Managing Director of MBD Group, described the agreement as a decisive strategic milestone, adding that the company aims to position Radisson Collection firmly within the luxury segment while aggressively scaling Radisson RED across key urban centres and high-growth leisure destinations. The expansion strategy will focus on tier-I cities and emerging leisure markets, reinforcing both brands’ presence in India’s evolving hospitality landscape.
