RITES and BEL Partner on ₹177 Crore Manufacturing Plant

RITES Ltd. has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) for providing design, project management consultancy (PMC) services, and construction support for a mass manufacturing facility dedicated to the Electro-Mechanical Strategic Business Unit (EM SBU) at BEL’s Palasamudram Campus in Andhra Pradesh.

The project will be executed on a cost-plus basis, promoting transparency and flexibility in cost management. The total estimated project cost is ₹177.225 crore (excluding GST), inclusive of PMC fees. The project is slated for completion within 24 months from the date of the formal agreement.

This engagement underscores a strategic collaboration between two key public sector enterprises and reflects RITES’ expanding footprint in defence manufacturing infrastructure. The facility will support BEL’s growth strategy and align with national objectives to enhance indigenous defence production and self-reliance under the 'Make in India' initiative.
