An integrated textile park will be established at Suramangalam in Salem district, Tamil Nadu, as announced by Tourism Minister R. Rajendran. District Collector R. Brindha Devi was also present during the announcement.
The park, first proposed by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in the 2021 Assembly session, will be developed with an investment of Rs 800 crore over 119 acres of land in Jagir Ammapalayam. This project is expected to generate direct employment for 15,000 people and indirectly benefit an additional 50,000 individuals.
With an anticipated business turnover of Rs 7,000 crore, primarily through exports, the park’s infrastructure development is expected to be completed within two years.
In addition, a dedicated facility for silver ankle chain manufacturers will be operational in the coming months.
