At the 56th meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, several key decisions were taken to accelerate the development of Amaravati.
The government approved ₹1,358 crore for layout development in Amaravati to strengthen infrastructure in areas covered under the Land Pooling Scheme. Among the major projects cleared was a ₹444-crore pumping station with a capacity of 8,400 cusecs, aimed at improving water management. The meeting also sanctioned a ₹103.96-crore research facility at the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre to promote advanced technology and position the capital as an innovation hub.
Chief Minister Naidu stressed the importance of establishing a cultural centre that showcases Andhra Pradesh’s heritage while integrating modern design elements. “The cultural centre should reflect the identity of Andhra Pradesh,” he said. In addition, the CRDA discussed plans for developing international-standard hotels and convention centres to support Amaravati’s growth as a global capital city.
