Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) Managing Director Ashok Reddy conducted inspections of several ongoing infrastructure projects to review progress, ensure timely completion, and assess future preparedness.
The visit began at Khanapur, where he examined the construction of the water treatment plant (WTP) under the Godavari Phase-II and Phase-III projects, assessing work quality and discussing project timelines with engineers. He later visited the Neopolis integrated drinking water supply project and held discussions with senior HMDA officials on land allocation for key infrastructure such as reservoirs and pumping stations.
Stressing the need for long-term planning to meet water demand and service requirements in the rapidly expanding area, MD Reddy also inspected the construction of a four MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) at Bulkapur Nala. The STP is part of the Jalmandali initiative aimed at preventing sewage from entering the city’s twin reservoirs.
During the visit, MD Reddy directed officials to prepare a comprehensive plan for sewer trunk mains and to strengthen coordination among concerned departments. The inspection underscored the Water Board’s focus on enhancing water supply and sewerage infrastructure to support Hyderabad’s fast-growing urban regions.
