Telangana Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has announced that repair works on the Annaram, Medigadda, and Sundilla barrages of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme will be carried out as per the recommendations of the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA).
During his inspection of the Jawahar Janpahad Lift Irrigation Scheme, the Minister noted a significant increase in both cultivated area and agricultural output. He instructed officials to complete the project by December, aiming to bring irrigation benefits to 10,000 acres of farmland.
The Minister also revealed plans to revive key pending irrigation projects, including Pranahita-Chevella and Tummidihetti, originally launched during the late YSR government.
Highlighting recent developmental efforts in Huzurnagar, his home constituency, Minister Reddy pointed to ongoing projects such as new college buildings, an R&B guest house, an irrigation office, and a ₹40-crore advanced technology centre, underscoring his commitment to the region's growth and infrastructure development.
