A New Era for Food Processing: JBT Marel Opens Pune GPC

JBT Marel, a global leader in food processing technology, has inaugurated its new Global Production Centre (GPC) in Vadgaon, Pune, reinforcing its long-term commitment to India and the Asia-Pacific region.

Located at Vivan Kohli Industrial Estate on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to enhance production capacity and deliver sustainable, efficient food processing solutions. The centre was inaugurated by senior JBT Marel executives, including CEO Brian Deck and EVP Augusto Rizzolo.

The Pune GPC will act as a hub for innovation and manufacturing, supporting the growing demand for packaged and ready-to-eat foods in India and neighbouring markets. It also strengthens JBT Marel’s role as an export base, enabling it to scale operations across South Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

Aligned with government initiatives such as ‘Make in India’ and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, the facility contributes to a sector that represents 12% of India’s manufacturing GDP and employs over eight million people.

This expansion highlights JBT Marel’s focus on technology-driven growth and its vision to advance food processing excellence across global markets.
