Spice Fusion: Gemini & Annapoorna Cook Up a New Venture

Gemini Edibles and Fats India (GEF India), a Hyderabad-based sunflower oil producer, has joined hands with Coimbatore’s Sree Annapoorna Foods to establish a joint venture, 'GEF Foods India'.

Marking Gemini’s entry into the spices segment, the venture involves a ₹70 crore investment, including ₹20 crore for working capital. Gemini holds a 70% stake, while Sree Annapoorna owns 30%.

Initially focusing on Tamil Nadu, the business plans to expand across South India. Capacity at the Coimbatore plant will be increased, and a new facility is planned in Tamil Nadu within two years. Sree Annapoorna’s annual turnover of ₹45 crore is projected to more than double to ₹100 crore in the next financial year.
