Jindal India Fires Up $180M West Bengal Steel Powerhouse

Jindal India has commissioned a new downstream steel facility in West Bengal with an annual production capacity of 0.6 million tonnes, developed at an investment of ₹1,500 crore.

This strategic expansion boosts the company’s total steel production capacity by 60%, up from the existing 1 million tonnes per annum. The new facility is expected to drive a significant increase in sales revenue over the coming years, enhancing output across key product segments:

Coated flat products by 60%, Pipe products by 40%, Crash barrier products by 75%

A part of the USD 2.5 billion BC Jindal Group, Jindal India operates across energy, steel, and packaging films. This latest investment reinforces the company’s commitment to scaling operations, meeting rising domestic demand, and strengthening its market position in the downstream steel segment.
