Kanthal Triples India Production with New Hosur Wire Facility

Sweden-based industrial heating and resistance materials specialist Kanthal has inaugurated a new wire manufacturing facility at its Hosur plant, further strengthening its presence in India.

Spanning 1,980 square metres, the new unit will more than triple the company’s production capacity, enabling it to better meet rising domestic demand and support exports to Southeast Asia and select European markets. Fine-dimension wire — a key product for Kanthal — will be a primary focus of the new facility.

Operating in India since 1988, Kanthal views the country as both a strategic manufacturing base and a rapidly growing market. Company President Robert Stål cited the Indian government's Make in India initiative and increasing local demand as key factors driving the expansion.

Kanthal is a global leader in industrial heating technology and resistance materials, serving industries such as automotive, electronics, and metal processing.
