Shyam Steel Industries has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to set up a large-scale steel manufacturing plant in Chandrapur district with an investment exceeding ₹10,000 crore.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Principal Secretary (Industries, Investment and Services) P. Anbalagan, and Shyam Steel Directors Purushottam Beriwala and Sidhartha Beriwala. The proposed facility will expand the company’s production footprint beyond eastern India, where it currently operates plants in West Bengal, Jharkhand, and other regions.
The project is expected to generate over 8,000 employment opportunities and strengthen Maharashtra’s steel ecosystem by boosting supply chains, encouraging downstream industries, and attracting further investment in the manufacturing sector.
The company stated that the investment reflects Maharashtra’s position as a preferred destination for industrial development and underscores its commitment to supporting India’s broader manufacturing growth.
