The Anjar Expansion: Welspun World Hits 600 KT Capacity

Union Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Patil inaugurated Welspun World’s new Ductile Iron (DI) pipe manufacturing facility in Anjar, Gujarat, on December 17, 2025, marking a significant milestone in strengthening India’s water management infrastructure.

The new plant, with a production capacity of 200 kilotonnes per annum, is part of a multi-crore brownfield expansion, taking Welspun World’s total DI pipe manufacturing capacity to 600 kilometric tonnes annually. This expansion further consolidates the company’s position in the infrastructure and water management sectors.

The facility is expected to play a crucial role in supporting key government initiatives such as the Jal Shakti Abhiyan and the Jal Jeevan Mission, as ductile iron pipes are essential for water supply and sewage transportation networks.

Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Patil said, “Through the Jal Shakti Abhiyan and the Jal Jeevan Mission, we are working tirelessly to ensure water security and provide safe and sufficient drinking water to every household.”

With the commissioning of this facility, Welspun World has strengthened its contribution to India’s infrastructure development by delivering reliable, sustainable water solutions backed by advanced manufacturing, technology, and environmentally responsible practices.
