Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to develop India’s first ship-to-ship liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering facility at the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Kerala.
The upcoming facility, strategically located along the East–West global shipping corridor, marks a significant milestone in India’s maritime energy transition. It will enable vessels to reduce carbon emissions by providing LNG as a cleaner alternative to conventional marine fuels.
The collaboration underscores APSEZ’s commitment to sustainable and green port operations and BPCL’s focus on expanding clean energy infrastructure.
This initiative aligns with India’s net-zero ambitions, setting a global benchmark for environmentally responsible shipping and reinforcing the country’s position as a key player in the future of green maritime logistics.
