Rekha Gupta has approved infrastructure projects worth more than ₹1,000 crore under the ‘Mission Yamuna’ programme, aimed at accelerating river rejuvenation efforts and strengthening water management infrastructure in Delhi.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the approved package includes comprehensive cleaning and restoration of the Najafgarh Drain, large-scale upgrades to sewage treatment facilities, and the deployment of advanced water management systems across the national capital.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader strategy to improve the ecological health of the Yamuna River and enhance Delhi’s urban environmental infrastructure.
Earlier, the Chief Minister, along with Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Harish Khurana, conducted an on-ground review of “Made in India” advanced air purification technologies as part of ongoing efforts to assess innovative pollution-control measures.
Officials said the inspection aligns with the government’s long-term environmental restoration roadmap for the Yamuna river system and broader initiatives to tackle urban pollution challenges.
