FedEx has announced plans to invest ₹2,500 crore in establishing a state-of-the-art air cargo hub at Navi Mumbai International Airport, strengthening India’s trade and transshipment infrastructure.
The proposed facility will cover over 3 lakh square feet and feature fully automated cargo handling systems along with dedicated parking bays for freighter aircraft. The hub is expected to become operational within the next two years and is projected to create approximately 6,000 direct and indirect jobs.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis, alongside senior leadership from FedEx and Adani Airports.
This investment represents a major expansion of FedEx’s footprint in India, reflecting the country’s rising prominence in global logistics, supply chains, and international trade.
