GatiShakti 105: Boosting the Pulse of Indian Logistics

The 105th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) reviewed key infrastructure proposals aimed at strengthening multimodal connectivity and improving logistics efficiency under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.

During the meeting, the NPG examined several railway and road projects designed to reduce congestion, shorten travel times, and support socio-economic development. Major railway proposals included the construction of third and fourth lines between Arakkonam–Renigunta and Guntakal–Ballary to ease network congestion and enhance freight capacity. The group also reviewed track doubling projects on the Erode–Karur and Salem–Karur–Dindigul sections, which are expected to improve logistics support for industries such as cement, coal, and textiles.

Additional projects discussed included line expansion works between Yadadri–Kazipet and Ghatkesar–Yadadri in Telangana, as well as an electrified multi-tracking railway line between Talegaon and Uruli in Maharashtra, aimed at strengthening both passenger and freight operations.

The Ministry of Railways highlighted the strategic significance of these initiatives, noting that the projects will play a crucial role in enhancing regional connectivity, improving logistics efficiency, and supporting industrial and economic growth across the regions.
