GIFT City's Newest Gem: Cognizant's TechFin Centre

Cognizant has launched its new TechFin Centre at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) on May 21, 2025, marking its strategic expansion into Tier-II cities. The centre will specialize in digital and AI-driven solutions for the banking, financial services, insurance (BFSI), and fintech sectors.

Inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the facility is expected to drive innovation, boost employment, and contribute to regional economic growth. Initially staffed with 150 employees—primarily local talent—Cognizant plans to grow the workforce to 2,000 over the next three years, starting with a base of 600.

Cognizant CFO Jatin Dalal highlighted the centre's focus on data analytics, cybersecurity, and digital engineering, with BFSI remaining the primary domain. Future plans include expanding into enterprise support for platforms like SIP and Oracle.

This move underscores Cognizant’s commitment to regional development and aligns with India's broader goals for digital transformation beyond major metropolitan areas.
