Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), under the Ministry of Railways, and GAIL (India) Limited, under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on April 23, 2025, in New Delhi. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Sanjay Swarup, CMD of CONCOR, Sanjay Kumar, Director (Marketing) at GAIL, and other senior officials from both organizations.
The MoU focuses on developing LNG infrastructure at CONCOR terminals across India to support the use of LNG fuel in road transport operations, promoting environmentally sustainable logistics.
As a first step, an LNG station will be set up at CONCOR’s Khodiyar terminal in Ahmedabad. This complements CONCOR’s ongoing green initiatives, including the existing LNG station at the Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) in Khatuwas and a fleet of 130 LNG-powered trailers.
Both companies will also explore broader collaboration opportunities to advance sustainable energy solutions in the logistics sector.
