Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Safran Electronics & Defense plan to establish a private limited joint venture, likely headquartered in Pune, to manufacture HAMMER missiles in India for deployment on fighter aircraft such as the Dassault Rafale.
In a stock exchange filing, BEL said the new entity will be incorporated with an initial authorised share capital of ₹1,00,000, comprising 1,000 equity shares of ₹100 each. The authorised capital may subsequently be increased to ₹10 crore or more, depending on operational requirements.
The partnership is aimed at enhancing indigenous missile manufacturing capabilities and reinforcing India’s defence production ecosystem under the broader push for self-reliance in the sector.
