Hebbal Just Got Faster: New Flyover Loop Now Open

Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru City Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar inaugurated the second loop of the Hebbal flyover, aimed at easing traffic congestion for commuters travelling to and from Kempegowda International Airport and the northern parts of Bengaluru.

He noted that residents had long faced severe congestion at the Hebbal junction and said the new loop would help ensure smoother and faster traffic movement. The Minister also announced that all local body elections, including those for the Greater Bengaluru Authority corporations, will be conducted this year, pointing out that the city has been without an elected council for over five years.

Highlighting broader infrastructure initiatives, Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar said the Bangalore Development Authority is executing several major projects as it marks its 50th year. He added that land acquisition is in progress for the 120-kilometre Bengaluru Business Corridor (BBC), under which farmers will receive developed commercial land along with compensation.

He further outlined plans for new tunnel roads, phased flyovers, and an elevated corridor envisioned as a new Outer Ring Road, underscoring the state government’s commitment to transforming Bengaluru’s urban infrastructure.
