Metro Brands, the Mumbai-based footwear major, is accelerating its expansion with the launch of MetroActiv, a new retail format dedicated to athletic footwear and active lifestyle products.
CEO Nissan Joseph said the activewear segment—driven by rising interest in fitness and sports across India—will be a key long-term growth engine for the company. MetroActiv stores will offer leading global brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Puma, with upcoming launches planned in Indore, Dehradun, and Surat. Each store will span around 30,000 sq. ft. The company also expects continued momentum following strong post-festival demand and the positive impact of recent GST reforms.
“We are confident that the activewear segment will become a strong long-term growth engine as more Indians focus on fitness, sports, and healthy living,” Joseph said.
